Don't you just love summer? Opportunities abound!
Something new is there to do each time you turn around!
Weather can be interesting, schedules often shift ~
Every day we have a choice, that is such a gift!

Don't let even one day pass without a conscious though ~
Choose things that will fill your soul, not just things you ought.
'Course we all know all about responsibilities...
But just because we've things we "must", don't leave out things that please.

We are sew very appreciative of all who joined us in helping the family offset a bit of the immense cost of cancer treatment. The good news is Roger is doing remarkably well!! Prayers are alsew VERY appreciated!!

The winner of this Patriotic Large Lap Quilt is PAM WYSONG
from Xenia, OH!
We here at the shop are particularly thrilled about our winner because Pam donates DOZENS of Americana Quilts to veterans every year. Thank you, Pam, for contributing generously toward the gift for our friend, Sue.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

II ~ BITS 'N PIECES
Here is a compilation of upcoming classes and events for you to consider.  I hope you can join us!!
1) ~ FEATHERWEIGHT CLUB
Sew many of our customers have one or more of these little darlings ~
Singer  Featherweight 221 machines from the 1930's to the 1960's.
The next meeting for our fun little gang is  Saturday, June 9 from 10-5. We are working on a super-fun project this coming Friday during Sit 'n Sew, and my Featherweight Friends got wind of it and want in on the action!!  Sew, on June 9 from 10-5 we'll be making the Nova pattern by Gudrun Erla, using the Stripology Squared ruler. All fabrics/pattern/rulers/thread, etc used for this class will be discounted 15%. Ruler is not mandatory, but makes it (as well as MANY other projects!!) extremely easy!  I have yardage figured for you from table runner to queen size. I'm here to tell you.....this project is SUPER SIMPLE and ADDICTING!! I planned to make one sample....and look what happened!!! These are all made from the same ONE block!!

     Sat. June 9                                            10-5                                           $5 fee

Currently I have no Featherweights for sale here at the shop. However a customer who is starting to downsize has a gorgeous Singer 27 from 1924 ready to find a forever home. A little cleaning and wax will make her sparkle! Wooden case is in excellent condition, however it can use a small repair on the back of the base. The only serious issue I see with this machine is the need for some electrical wiring repair. $150. Machine is at our shop.

I alsew have one Featherweight wooden extension table left. Price is $25. Nicely made, nicely finished.

8) MACHINE APPLIQUED TEA TOWEL Machine applique has been gaining in popularity and we see sew many quilters who struggle when they attempt this skill. Join either Pam Herron or I for a full day class to learn how to make your applique, apply it to fabric, and successfully applique it, using several techniques, to a tea towel. You have your choice of any of these seasonal patterns. You'll need a working sewing machine with zig-zag capability and adjustable top thread tension. If you do not have an appropriate machine, let us know. You are welcome to use one of ours. It's always best, however, if you can learn on your own machine.

Sat. June 16                                       10-3                                                Class Fee $25
9) EVENING QUILT ACADEMY
We've had many, many requests that we offer our Quilt Academy in the evenings. Sew, we waited until summer when it stays light longer. Here's the plan....We've updated the process and modernized our approach! Blocks are made in easiest-to-hardest sequence with each block teaching specific skills. The first class will be Tuesday, June 19 and from then on we will host 2 classes per month ~ the first and third Tuesdays from 5:30-9. You will make 2 blocks per class and compete the 20 blocks in 5 months. The 6th month you will learn how to sash the blocks together and complete a quilt top in your desired size.
Price will be $20/class, or $175 if paid in advance. Before our start date we would request that you come to the shop and we will help you pick fabrics. This will be almost like a 'class' for you as we explain how/why we choose specific fabrics. In the end, YOU are the decision maker as we want you to LOVE your fabrics. You will receive 15% off these fabrics, as well as any other purchases for or during Quilt Academy. We will alsew have kits for each student containing all the specific notions needed to complete the quilt. These kits are included in class price. Rotary cutters, mats, thread are NOT included in these kits.
By the time you complete this class you will feel like you went from Quilting Kindergarten to having graduated from Quilting College. You will have not only new skills, but new confidence!
First Class is Tuesday, June 19, then
1st and 3rd Tuesdays July thru Oct from 5:30 to 9,
with final class November 6 to learn setting entire quilt together

All throughout the summer we will be continuing our FREE Wednesday and Friday Sit 'n Sews. They are just the most supportive, creative energy-inducing, friendship growing, quilt making events you can imagine!!  For all the staff at Creations, it's like hosting a day of quilting with all our best friends in our home studio!! These events have taken on a life of their own and evolved to be sew much more that we first imagined!!  Because of everyone's crazy, impromptu, busy summer schedules (ours, and yours!), we are not going to schedule week-long sit 'n sews until September. HOWEVER, if you, or you and a friend or two want to come sew during the week sew you can enjoy our help (um, I mean our COMPANY!!), just let us know! As long as we have no classes or events scheduled we are always happy for the company!!
We occasionally offer fun little classes for anyone interested during Friday Sit 'n Sew. This coming Friday, June 1, from 10-5 I'll be teaching the fun NOVA pattern you've all been watching me obsess over!!  If you want to make it, there will be NO class fee, and you will receive 15% off on all your purchases for the class. You won't get your quilt done, but you will know how all the blocks are made, and you can make a choice at that time, of how you want to put yours together. Remember.....there are MANY more Wednesdays and Fridays that you can come and continue with our help. If you can't be here this Friday.....come any Friday or Wednesday and I'll get you going!!
